The Friends of the Colonel Belcher was established in the Fall of 1998 as a volunteer organization to support efforts to enhance the quality of life of veterans in the Colonel Belcher Veterans' Care Centre. With the announcement of construction of a new veterans' care facility by the Calgary Regional Health Authority, this organization has also taken a leadership role in raising funds to provide amenities to enhance the quality of life for veterans in the new facility. The new Colonel Belcher Care Centre is scheduled for completion in 2002.

Our Mandate
The mandate of the Friends of the Colonel Belcher is to raise funds to provide amenities and enhancements for use by the residents and staff of the Colonel Belcher Veterans' Care Centre, by helping to improve the quality of care, comfort, service and education; and to develop relationships and friends which will support fund raising activities for major enhancements to the present facility as well as the new Colonel Belcher Care Centre.

Our Partners
The Friends of the Colonel Belcher has joined veterans organizations, Veterans Affairs Canada, the Calgary Regional Health Authority and the Calgary Health Trust in a partnership to recognize the tremendous debt that the community owes its veterans.
