CHAPEL
On
Saturday and Sunday mornings a large partition retracts to transform Town
Hall into a centre for fellowship and spiritual support.
In the early days of the new Colonel Belcher Chapel a handful of residents
made their way to the quiet spiritual services. As word traveled about
the comforting experience the handful grew to a congregation of more than
100 worshippers who now commonly gather to participate in the non-denominational
services that offer comfort, fellowship and inspiration.
On the last Wednesday of each month the room becomes a respite area where
friends and loved ones can gather and reflect at a service that honors
the memory of the centre's residents who have recently passed away.

STAINED GLASS
On
each side of the Chapel's alter hangs an original stained glass creation
that contributes to the spiritual ambiance of the chapel. These colourful
glass and light landscapes of prairies, mountains and foothills, and the
powerful symbol of remembrance expressed in the vivid red poppies offer
parishioners a serene focal point for contemplation.

THE PUB
Five
times each week residents and their guests congregate in The Pub for Happy
Hour. A popular spot for special occasions such as birthday parties and
anniversaries, or just a casual get-together, residents and their friends
gather here to visit and share some laughs over a pint or two of beer.
The Pub is fully licensed to provide the preferred libations of its many
regular guests.
Many of the events and much of the funding for the operations of the Pub
are sponsored by the Vets’ Angels.
On the first Thursday of every month it's Pig & Whistle time! The
usually modest Happy Hour gathering of 20 - 25 bar patrons swells to nearly
100 on some of these occasions that might find participants two-stepping
to a live country band or shuffling cheek-to-cheek to live renditions
of the Benny Goodman and Glen Miller Big Bands' war time favorites.
Refreshments are served and the dance cards are full when this familiar
piece of the outside world comes home to those who eagerly anticipate
the spirited social gathering.
